Recruiting
Business Career Services partners with employers to connect Walker College of Business undergraduate and graduate students with meaningful career opportunities. At Appalachian State University, employers have access to a pipeline of talented students equipped to contribute across industries such as accounting, finance, analytics, marketing, management, supply chain, risk management, hospitality, and more.
Employers can connect with students by participating in career fairs, posting positions in Handshake, and hosting internships. For employers seeking deeper engagement, our Employer Partner Program offers flexible, high‑impact ways to build visibility, strengthen your talent pipeline, and tailor interactions based on your recruiting goals.
Business Career Services follows the recruiting policies set by our central Career Development Center. All employers recruiting at Appalachian State University must adhere to these Employer Recruiting Policies.

Hosting Internships
Internships provide both students and employers with valuable benefits. Students receive hands-on experience, while employers get fresh perspectives and innovative ideas and develop a pipeline of talented individuals for future hiring needs. If you are interested in providing these experiential opportunities for WCOB students, please see our information on how to design, promote, and host your internships.

Practice Interviews
Each semester, recruiting employers and WCOB alumni host Practice Interviews to help students refine their interviewing skills in a no-pressure and relaxed setting. Many employers use this opportunity as a pre-screening tool prior to our career fairs. Practice Interviews will be offered in half day blocks, with each interview lasting 30 minutes. If you are interested in facilitating virtual practice interviews, review our Facilitator’s Guide and sign up to participate.
