Focus 2 Careerguides you through a reliable, intuitive career and education decision making model to help you choose majors offered at App State, explore occupations and make informed career decisions. This tool will engage you in the career planning process and help you plan for and achieve career success throughout your lifetime. LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning is a professional development software tool that faculty, staff, and students can use to gain relevant skills and certifications, including business, creative, and tech courses. In addition, this provides unlimited access to their extensive subscription library, including popular software applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals, and Adobe. A LinkedIn account is not required; simply activate your account by logging in with your App State user ID and password to get started.
Quinncia
Quinncia is an online tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to scan your resume for common errors and shows you what to fix (and how) to effectively make it through the applicant tracking systems used by most major companies. Applicant tracking systems (usually referred to as "ATS") help simplify the application review process for HR departments by filtering out resumes that aren't a close enough match to a position's set criteria. Quinncia will analyze your resume according to common ATS parameters and point out exactly what mistakes will prevent you from making it through those filters and into the hiring manager's hands.
Big Interview
Big Interview is a virtual platform that helps individuals improve their interviewing skills and build confidence for job interviews. It provides a variety of tools, including virtual mock interviews, a library of interview questions, video training, and an answer builder to help users prepare and practice.
Handshake
Handshake serves as our online career services portal that provides easy access to job and internship postings, on-campus recruiting, career fairs, employer contact information and scheduling coaching appointments. It connects current students and alumni with potential employers to help build meaningful careers.
Parker Dewey
Parker Dewey is a free platform that allows students to demonstrate skills and explore career paths across various fields, industries and disciplines. Business Career Services has partnered with Parker Dewey to begin promoting micro-internships to App State students. Projects exist for all majors and can incorporate a student’s outside experience/interests learned outside of their major. Students and recent graduates from all majors can gain real-world experience by completing short-term, paid, typically-remote, professional projects. Micro-Internships allow students to build and demonstrate skills while exploring potential career paths.
